Philanthropy

Tri Sigma has its own fund that sisters nation wide support. We raise money year round for the Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation. The Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation solely funds two hospital wings that specializes in Play Therapy. These wings are located at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill

One of our mottos is : "Sigma serves children"  Since 1954, Tri Sigma has funded over $2,000,000 in play therapy/child life programs. Tri Sigma raises all this money by the various philanthropic events hosted each year. For example, Alpha Chi's Ultimate Frisbee Tournament and the Jan Jones Wilson Memorial 5k walk/run.

JAN WILSON MEMORIAL 5K RUN/WALK

In the Spring semester, we host a 5K walk/run through Murray State campus. Sisters, Students and members of the community participate annually for the event. Originally called "Run for Robbie" this event was renamed in 2006 in memory of our beloved advisor Mrs. Jan. As our advisor, she did amazing things for our chapter. Mrs. Jan devoted her heart and time to Sigma. Jan Wilson Memorial 5K walk/run is our way of remembering her and giving back.

Character Counts

Sigma Sigma Sigma's up and coming philanthropy project is being invloved with Character Counts.

Character Counts involves the sisters going into the school systems and having a program for the students. The program the sisters teach will include lessons on manners, respect, morals, academics and many more.

Sisters are extremely excited to be getting involved with this organization. Not only does this organization's mission reflects Tri Sigma's core values.  But also,  the sisters are able to actively participate in making a difference in children's lives. If you would like to know more, make sure to ask a sister!
